Given the nature of my content, which is often focused on misinformation, and my attitude around selling physical products (I don’t like the idea of promoting overconsumption and prefer to just focus on education), the content you see on this platform has not been conducive to getting sponsorship to support it. As a consequence, up until 2026, most of my science communication work has been self funded through my technical consulting work. I also get about $150 monthly through my patreon supporters who I so appreciate. Alas, this has become pretty unsustainable for me to continue as I have been.

Here’s a snipbit of a post Michelle @labmuffinbeautyscience and I collaborated on to expain the issue of how unsustainable independent science communication currently is.

After a conversation about this with my friends at CM Studio+, they suggested they help out as a long term sponsor to keep my science communication work going. There’s so much more I want to do with this platform, especially when it comes to my free e-summit series and the mentorship cohorts for prospective science communicators and students. So at the start of 2026, I’ve entered a longer term partnership with CM Studio+ where they will help subsidize my content so I don’t have to do as much consulting work to support it myself. They have been extremely generous where they have no say in the content I create; I’m free to continue saying what I believe in, and doing the things I feel are important. It’s hard to express how helpful a long term partnership like this will be to help me continue what I’m doing here.

CM Studio+ is a company that shares my values for accessibility, particularly for small businesses and students. They have a formulation software with Product Lifecycle Management capabilities and product costing estimations. If you value my sci-comm work, I would really appreciate it if you try out their software, even just as a quick thank you. It’s free to use for individuals, and would be very helpful for anyone going through new product development of a cosmetic. Check them out here!

Thank you so much to CM Studio+ for supporting our sci-comm!
